Police say hundreds of dollars worth of fuel has been stolen in the Upstate in recent weeks. Sgt. Jonathan Bragg from the Greenville Police Department says, over 100 gallons of gas was stolen from the U-Haul location on Keith Drive in Greenville. Two separate incidents of gas theft was reported there on June 11th and June 16th.
Police say, a black Lexus convertible made off with the fuel using a hidden tank transfer in the trunk of the vehicle. Sgt. Bragg says, the Lexus lost its front bumper in the incident last Thursday, then the suspects returned to retrieve it the following day, driving a gray Toyota SUV. Police are looking to identify the suspects, anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 23-Crime. "
