A larger than normal crowd gathered at the Greenville County Board Of Education meeting, Tuesday night. The large crowd response came after 8 year old, Leo Cervantes drowned after escaping from Bells Crossing Elementary School, earlier this month.
The boy had autism and many parents of special needs children were there to voice their concerns and speak on their experiences. So many signed up to make public comments that the board cut the time for each speaker from the normal three minutes down to two.
Not only were their concerns voiced, some speakers also highlighted the positive experiences with the special education process in Greenville County Schools.
