The parents of a baby that died the day after Christmas are in custody and face a long a list of charges. The Oconee County Sheriff's Office responded to a home in Seneca Monday afternoon, after a 911 call regarding a child that went into cardiac arrest.
Upon arrival, Deputies and EMT's found the 7 week old baby unresponsive. The infant was taken to Oconee Memorial Hospital and was pronounced dead there, a short time later.
Investigators then obtained a search warrant for the home, the search turned up various drugs. The parents of the child, Sheila Marie Raynor and Michael Shane Blackwell were then taken into custody.

They both face charges for unlawful neglect of a child and several drug possession charges. The child's death remains under investigation by the Oconee County Sheriff's Office with assistance from SLED.
