
A pedestrian is dead following a crash in the Upstate this morning. The fatal wreck happened just after 5AM Monday morning on Sandifer Boulevard near Mauldin Mill Road about 2 miles west of Seneca.

Master Trooper Mitchell Ridgeway of the South Carolina Highway Patrol says, the pedestrian was in the roadway attempting to cross Sandifer boulevard, when they were hit by the driver of a minivan.
The pedestrian was taken to Easley Baptist Hospital and later died there from injuries suffered in the crash. The identity of the pedestrian has not yet been released, but Ridgeway did indicate that the deceased was a 58 year old , Seneca resident.
The driver of the minivan was not injured and the crash remains under investigation by the Highway Patrol.
