Proving once again the old aviation adage that "any landing you can walk away from is a good landing", a pilot and passenger escaped injury after a single engine private plane crash landed, in Northern Greenville County Thursday evening.

The pilot landed the plane in a field off Old Highway 25, just south of the Cliff Valley Golf Course. According to FlightAware.com data the Cessna 177 took off from the Pickens County Airport just after 6PM and crash landed just before 6:30PM.

Greenville County Emergency Management says the Cessna flipped over, but appeared to be relatively undamaged. The FAA is investigating the crash.
