The now infamous former Greenville church house that was painted pink earlier this year, could become an apartment building. The Post And Courier is reporting that the property on Woodside Avenue is now on the market for 2.5 million dollars.
The developer who owns the property, Ron Rallis told the Post and Courier his original plan for the building was to make it a multi-family building with 48 units. Rallis purchased the property last December and in May successfully had it rezoned by Greenville County.
In July, Rallis had the former church painted pink which brought a swirl of attention. Rallis claimed it was done to raise awareness to his issues with 4th District Congressman William Timmons. He has accused Timmons of having an extra-marital affair with his estranged wife and abusing his power in having him arrested.
During appearances on WORD programming, Timmons would not confirm nor deny the allegations the affair accusations. In those same appearances, he denied abusing his power.
The report from the Post and Courier says, that some members of the predominantly black Woodside community took offense to Rallis using their neighborhood to air his personal grievances. Rallis told the paper " I am not going to be bullied away from a 15 million dollar project simply because some are pulling the race card."
