The calm and collected actions of a commercial airline pilot averted what could've been a disastrous landing in North Carolina, this morning. Delta Airlines says one of their Boeing 717 planes landed without the landing gear at the Charlotte Airport. The flight left Atlanta just before 7:30 this morning loaded with nearly a 100 passengers, three flight attendants and two pilots on board.

WSOC-TV in Charlotte reports that the plane with its nose gear in the up position and made a safe stop on the runway after a smooth landing, considering the circumstances.

The runway the plane landed on was closed for a period of time, so the plane could be moved. No injuries were reported in the incident.
