Police in Western North Carolina have responded and are squelching online rumors, after the mass weekend shooting that left two dead and seven others injured. As we previously reported, the Asheville police responded to the mass shooting, Sunday.
Rumors have circulated on social media as a flyer has been posted saying the Asheville Police Department has named a person of interest in the shooting.
The Department responded Tuesday)saying that flyer is not accurate. Their post said that they have not publicly identified a person of interest and working tirelessly to follow up on every lead. Anyone with info on the mass shooting should contact the Asheville Police Department at 828-252-1110.
