Abbeville Police are hoping a tip from public will help them solve the solve the murders of a man in an apartment complex early yesterday and another found dead in the nearby woods.
Police were first called to Oakland Apartments on Virginia Avenue just after midnight where they found Jahvious Devonta Strong-Smith in a breezeway with a bullet wound. Despite efforts of police and EMT's the 26 year old man died at the scene.
The coroner was called back to the area about an hour later when a second victim's body was discovered in a wooded area near the complex. He is now identified as 30-year-old Henry Dawson, killed by a gunshot to the chest. Abbeville Police asked for help from SLED crime scene investigators and from anyone in the community who knows anything about the case.
