A now former Travelers Rest Police officer in under investigation by State Law Enforcement Division agents regarding an alleged sexual assault. TR Police Chief Benjamin Ford requested the investigation.
The alleged sexual assault happened after midnight on July 3rd. However, Chief Ford was not made aware of it until receiving a complaint about 5PM Sunday evening. The Police Department has not released the name of the officer, he was fired Sunday night for violating department policy.
