A local police department is hoping that assistance from the public will help them solve a cold case murder. In October of 2015, Markeith Tracy was fatally shot on Carlisle Street in Spartanburg.

Since that day, his mother and family have been searching for answers, and the Spartanburg Police Department have been searching for his killer.

Major Art Littlejohn says Markeith Tracy was sitting in a vehicle with a young lady, when two men a pick up truck dove by, then turned around and opened fire striking Tracy twice.

Investigators hope that now nearly 8 years later, that witnesses will finally come forward and give the Tracy family the answers they have been searching for, all this time.

Anyone with information on the cold case murder is urged to contact the Spartanburg Police Department or Crime Stoppers at 888-Crime-SC.
