The family of Earl Fitzgerald Hunter, along with local Black Lives Matter activist Bruce Wilson, held a press conference Monday afternoon following the release of body cam footage over the weekend in Hunter's death from late June.
Earl Fitzgerald Hunter was shot during an incident in late June, and two of the three body cam videos were released over this past weekend from the incident.
Hunter's brother, Cristopher J. Hunter, said during the press conference that he and his family simply want transparency regarding the incident via the release of the final body cam video.
"Things happen like they happen. All me and my mother are asking for is condolences or, like, we need to know the truth. We want to know what happened in those last seconds of his life," Cristopher Hunter said, calling for the family to be allowed to view the third unreleased body cam video. "That's all we want. We just want the truth, no matter if it's right or wrong. We can deal with that. We've been dealing with that as a family."
Local activist Bruce Wilson also led the press conference and further expressed the family's desire to see the full body cam footage for the sake of transparency and to learn the full context of the incident that led to Hunter's death.
