An already convicted sex offender is back in custody on child sex crime charges in Western North Carolina. The Rutherford County Sheriff's Office says, they were notified by another agency about a previously convicted sex offender who was reportedly exploiting a minor online.
About a week later investigators arrested the suspect James Patrick Collins. He's charged with 10 counts of 2nd degree sexual exploitation of a minor and failure to register as a sex offender. Collins is being held in Rutherford County on a bond of 800,000 dollars.
