The clock ran out at the end of the year in the financial feud between Prisma Health and United Healthcare. The result is that UHC customers wanting to use Prisma Health facilities will have to pay out-of-network rates.
At the heart of the issue is an ongoing dispute over reimbursement rates. UHC covered patients are still able to get in- network rates at the other major upstate healthcare providers.
Both organizations in statements blame each other for the failure to reach an agreement.
