Prisma Health experts speak on Damar Hamlin incident

Much of the talk Tuesday around the nation has revolved around the terrifying incident in last night's Monday Night Football game between Buffalo and Cincinnati. Bills Safety Damar Hamlin went into cardiac arrest after being hit in the 1st quarter.

On Tuesday, medical experts from Prisma Health held a press conference to give their perspective on the situation. Dr. Michael Cryer, a Cardiologist with Prisma Health gave his initial reaction when seeing the play. Dr. Cryer praised the immediate response of the medical personnel who were on hand.

Dr Zoe Foster is the Medical Director for the University of South Carolina Athletic Department. She spoke about the preparation for on-field medical staff.

The game was suspended and not re-started after the tragic incident. As of the time of this report, Hamlin remained in critical condition at a hospital in Cincinnati.
