Another major ransomware attack in the Upstate just two weeks after a ransomware attack hit the Spartanburg County government offices.
ScanSource, an international tech company focused on cloud and connection services, was hit by a ransomware attack that was discovered on Sunday, May 14th.
The company said in a press release Wednesday that a response plan was immediately launched and the incident is now being appropriately managed.
Law enforcement was notified of the attack, and forensic and cybersecurity exports are aiding in the investigation.
In a press release, ScanSource said “The security of its systems, as well as the impact on its employees, customers and suppliers is of utmost importance to ScanSource. The company is working diligently to bring affected systems back online, while also mitigating the impact on its business.”
