A historical ballpark in Greenville has re-opened. An event was held yesterday to celebrate the grand re-opening of Mayberry Park. City officials and members of the community were on hand to honor the history of Mayberry Park.

The ballpark was built around a 100 years ago and served as the home field for Sterling High, which was an all-black school during segregation. The newly renovated Mayberry Park will host youth baseball games for kids across Greenville County.

The project comes with a price tag of over 3 million dollars and was funded by the City and private donors.
