As the Fourth of July approaches, the American Red Cross is asking for blood donations to combat the expected increase in need.
The American Red Cross says its blood donations in recent weeks have been on a downward trend, which they expect will put a strain on blood supplies as the Fourth of July approaches.
In a press release, they specifically asked for those with type B negative or O negative blood as the most needed doners.
As an incentive, those who donate through June 30th are also being offered a $10 gift card of their choice.
Upcoming Greenville blood drives in Greenville include the Kroc Center from noon to four on Friday, June 23rd, Saint James Episcopal Church from eleven to three on Friday, June 30th, and at the American Red Cross Greenville location on Monday, July 3rd.
