A repeat offender from the Upstate will spend the next decade behind bars for child sex crimes.
The South Carolina Attorney General's Office says 48 year old, Bunky Wayne Balcombe pleaded guilty to four counts of 3rd degree criminal sexual exploitation of a minor.
In 2023, the Laurens County Sheriff's Office responded to a home during a sex crime investigation. Court records show that Balcombe admitted to deputies that he had files depicting child sex abuse on his phone, he was then take into custody.
Balcombe has a history of child sex crimes. He was convicted in 2019 on multiple counts of sexual exploitation and criminal solicitation of a minor.
