One person is dead after an accident in a construction zone on an Upstate highway. The South Carolina Highway Patrol says the fatal crash happened around 9AM Tuesday morning on Highway 11 near Fire Station Road in Oconee County.
The Coroner's Office says, the victim was an employee of King Asphalt and was hit by one of the company trucks, as the driver was backing up. The victim has been identified as 58 year old, Joe Milton Bridges of Liberty.
The incident remains under investigation by the South Carolina Highway Patrol and the Oconee County Coroner's Office.
