The top prosecutor in the Palmetto State says mass resistance to ICE deportations will be met with serious consequences. South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson says everyone has the right to peacefully protest.
However, if anyone obstructs or interferes with law enforcement in doing so, they will face criminal charges. The release from Wilson cited the crash during the ICE protests in Greenville last weekend. Wilson described the crash as "reckless behavior" and "a disregard for public safety".
Wilson finished by saying "Let it be clear: any individual who engages in obstructing law enforcement, interfering with investigations, or attempting to disrupt lawful immigration enforcement efforts, will face prosecution to the fullest extent of the law."
