South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson has responded to a report on organized crime operations being ran from inside state prisons. Wilson held a press conference, Wednesday morning.
He announced that a State Grand Jury has issued a report on the issue. Three state inmates were convicted last month for running a meth trafficking operation from inside prison.
Wilson also spoke on multiple other cases where inmates have been involved in criminal enterprises. Wilson pointed out that inmates are using contraband cell phones to be able to run the illegal operations.
Wilson is calling on Congress and the FCC to jam the contraband phones to shutdown the criminal networks.
