A report was made to the Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office on December, 27, 2020, involving 34-year-old Michael Tray Suddeth of Inman and a 12 year old juvenile victim.

There were allegations of sexual abuse that had been occurring since the juvenile was 10 years old. The juvenile was interviewed at the Child Advocacy Center and gave a very detailed statement.
Based on the extensive disclosure, the child was placed into Emergency Protective Custody on January 28, 2021. Earlier today, a search warrant was executed at the residence of the suspect, which further corroborated victim’s disclosure.
This case was presented before a magistrate, who found sufficient probable cause to issue 6 warrants of Criminal Sexual Conduct with a Minor – Second Degree and 3 counts of Criminal Sexual Conduct with a Minor – Third Degree.
Suddeth was arrested by deputies at his workplace and transported to the office to speak with the lead investigator. After being advised of his rights, he declined to speak with that investigator and was then transported to the detention facility without incident.
