The search is on for a missing boater in North Georgia. The Hart County Sheriff's Office responded to Payne's Creek Campground on Lake Hartwell around 4:30 Tuesday afternoon, on a report that a person was missing in the water.
The Georgia DNR, Hart County Fire and Emergnecy Management also responded to the scene. Boats with sonar equipment and underwater remote vehicles were deployed in the search.
Officials say the search resumed Wednesday morning and is still ongoing. No further information has been released, we plan to have more on this story, as new details emerge.
