The search is on for a suspect following an attempted robbery at a Western North Carolina business. The Rutherford County Sheriff's Office responded to Thompson Contractors just before 5 PM Monday.
Deputies say a man came into the business, pushed the clerk and took money from the drawer. The clerk then hit the suspect, causing him to drop the money. The suspect fled the scene on foot.
The Forest City PD assisted and brought in a K-9 unit to track the suspect. The dog eventually lost the suspect's scent. A drone was also used to fly over the area, to no avail.
