A Seneca man is behind bars after being charged with kidnapping and 1st degree domestic violence. The Oconee County Sheriff's Office responded early Sunday morning to a convenience store on Highway 123.
Upon arrival, a woman told them she had been assaulted in a motel room. Deputies say the suspect 49 year old, Kevin Damont Rucker assaulted the woman and kept her from leaving the room. The victim escaped and went to the store to call for help.
Rucker was then taken into custody. Arrest warrants say Rucker hit the woman, choked her, threatening to kill her and illegally confined the victim.
