As we previously reported, a Greenville man identified as 20-year-old Kenneth Wayne Battles III was arrested last week, accused of breaking into two separate Simpsonville homes and sexually assault young girls at each of those locations.

Greenville Sheriff Hobart Lewis joined the Tara Show Monday morning, where he explained this is not the agency’s first encounter with this individual.

“He had actually went and walked through the park, a couple of different parks, where he would undress months ago,” Sheriff Lewis said. “People would call and say there’s a naked guy walking through the park.
Well turns out, that was this guy. And when that was not enough for him, he has turned to breaking into homes and touching children.”

Lewis went on to explain that cooperation and quick action from deputies to communicate with the community and collect evidence are what led to the rapid identification arrest of the suspect.

Battles is currently being held without bond on charges including kidnapping, first degree assault and battery, and burglary.
