Heavy law enforcement presence in Gray Court Monday morning was due to a domestic situation between two sisters.
The Laurens County Sheriff's Office responded to a home on Mountain Creek Road shortly before 10am. Arriving Deputies tried to speak with one sister who they believed to be the aggressor. She fired at least one shot. One Deputy returned fire.
SLED and SWAT teams were called in to try and communicate. The other sister, who called 911, was able to get out of the home safely.
According to the Sheriff's Office, Deputies exchanged gunfire with one of the sisters who was still inside the home when they arrived on scene. The other sister, who called 911, was able to get out safely.
The Sheriff's Office reported Mollie Mischelle Shephard was taken into custody shortly before 12:30pm Monday afternoon. According to a report, she's been charged with two counts of attempted murder and breach of peace. More charges are possible.

Shephard is being held at the Laurens County Detention Center under no bond.
PREVIOUSLY REPORTED: Shortly before 12:30pm Monday afternoon, the Sheriff's Office reported a subject was in custody, no injuries reported.
At this time, no other details, nor the identity of the subject has been released.
