An investigation is ongoing after shots were fired during a high school football game in the Upstate. The Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office says gunshots rang out from a parking lot at Dorman High School. Friday night.
The incident happened late in the 4th quarter of Dorman's home playoff game vs Ridge View. Sheriff Bill Rhyne released a social media video Saturday saying the deputies immediately responded to the parking lot and secured the stadium.
The Sheriff also praised the school district's usage of a weapons detection system to keep weapons out of the stadium. The incident was confined to the parking lot, no injuries were reported and no arrests have been announced.
Dorman won the game 35-14 and will take on defending State Champs Dutch Fork on Friday with a berth in the class 5A Division 1 State Title Game on the line.
