A judge in the Midlands, Jocelyn Newman has ruled that the electric chair and firing squad violate South Carolina's constitution. The Dept. Of Corrections has had issues procuring the drugs needed for lethal injections, which has led to the state looking at other options in carrying out the death penalty. The Governor's Office and State Dept. Of Corrections is expected to appeal the ruling. Should those two forms of capital punishment be permissible to use in South Carolina?
