Crashes on Upstate highways are an everyday thing. Tragically, fatal crashes around the Upstate happen nearly daily as well. As someone who has a long commute to work, I am in traffic quite a bit. I notice while in traffic, what seems to be an increase in distracted driving. People often are looking at their phone and texting or holding their phone while talking. In the last several weeks, I have seen multiple close calls and most of those instances a driver was texting or being distracted in some way. It brings up the question, should their be stiffer penalties for distracted driving? We want to hear from you, let us know below.
