An investigation is ongoing following the 2nd officer involved shooting in the Upstate, in less than 24 hours. SLED says, the most recent incident happened in Laurens County, Wednesday.
Deputies from the Laurens County Sheriff's Office responded to the area of Satterwhite Road Wednesday morning. The Sheriff's Office says a suspect was taken into custody around 12:30 PM, Wednesday afternoon.
As of the time of this report, there's been no details released by SLED or the Sheriff's Office on how the shooting transpired and the name of the suspect has not yet been released.
SLED's investigation is standard protocol in officer involved shooting, statewide.
This incident comes after a suspect was fatally shot in Pickens County Tuesday night after reportedly opening fire on South Carolina Highway Patrol Troopers.
