In Colleton County, a SLED specialist will take the stand Monday morning to continue testifying about what prosecutors say are inconsistencies between crime scene evidence and Alex Murdaugh's account of the discovery of his murdered wife and son.
Before court adjourned for the weekend Colleton County detective Laura Rutland was on the stand for hours of questioning about her report on Murdaugh's initial statement to investigators, especially his comment that he had tried to take his son's pulse when blood evidence indicates no one had touched the victims, and that Murdaugh's hands and clothing did not appear to be bloodstained.
During cross examination, defense lawyer Jim Griffin asked if that meant Murdaugh could not have been anywhere nearby when his son was shot? Nine witnesses have testified so far, all from law enforcement. The names of 255 other people are still on the list as potential witnesses.
