Two DSS Case Managers have been charged after abandoning a child in the Upstate, earlier this year. SLED says that back in March, 42 year old Michelle Lorraine Holmes and 26 year old, Marcus Antonio Hutchins left a boy at a gas station on Fairforest Road in Spartanburg.
The child is a foreign national with no family in the state. He was being transported to the Spartanburg County DSS Office when the group stopped at a gas station.
SLED reports that Hutchins took the child to the bathroom ad once he was inside, Hutchins and Holmes left in a DSS vehicle. The child came out of the bathroom and discovered the case managers were gone, the store clerk then called authorities.
Hutchins and Holmes reportedly told their supervisor that the boy ran off when they stopped at the store. Holmes was the child's case manager, she's charged with child abandonment. Hutchins is charged with criminal conspiracy.
