Alleged infidelity has led to a shooting that has landed a Spartanburg County man behind bars for more than the next three decades.

The 7th Circuit Solicitors Office says 24 year old, Kelbrez Stringer was found guilty Wednesday on charges of attempted murder, shooting into a vehicle and dwelling and a weapons violation.

Court records say that in April of 2023, Stringer used his girlfriend's car while she was at work. When he picked her up, the woman got a phone call alleging that Stringer cheated on her and used her car to do so.

The woman had Stringer exit the vehicle and as she drove away he fired a pistol at her more than 40 times. The victim was hit in the neck, other bullets hit the vehicle and a nearby home.

Stringer has been sentenced to 35 years in the state prison system.
