
A Spartanburg man is set to spend the next 4-plus decades in prison for armed robbery and his involvement in a fatal shooting. 31 year old Troy Dashaun Braxton pleaded guilty Tuesday to pleaded guilty Tuesday to charges of voluntary manslaughter, five counts of armed robbery, aggravated assault, weapons violations and other charges.
Those charges stem from two incidents in January of 2020. Investigators say, Braxton robbed a Spartanburg bar and three of its patrons at gunpoint, before fleeing the scene.
Court records show that 9 days later Braxton was involved in the robbery and fatal shooting of a man at the Promenade Apartments in Spartanburg. He fled the scene before deputies arrived that night, however he was located and taken into custody after a police pursuit, a couple weeks later.
Braxton has been sentenced to a total of 43 years in the state prison system.
