A Spartanburg man will spend nearly the next two decades behind bars. The 7th Circuit Solicitors Office says 21 year old, Dorian Samir Petty has entering guilty pleas to attempted murder, carjacking, firing shots at police and multiple other charges.
The charges stem from a crime spree in about two years ago.. Spartanburg County Deputies responded to a shooting at an apartment complex in September of 2022.
Court documents say the victim had been shot after being carjacked. The stolen vehicle was later found dumped into a creek. Then, City Police Officers responded to a shooting at another apartment complex and found shell casings and a car that had gunfire damage.
Petty and the other suspects also were charged for being part of multiple burglaries during that same week. The group was taken into custody after firing at officers during a chase. Petty has been sentenced to 18 years.
