The heavy storms across the area earlier this week, has brought on the closure of a bridge in Western North Carolina.
The North Carolina Department Of Transportation says the bridge on South Mills Gap in Henderson County has been shut down.
The bridge runs over Clear Creek in the Fruitland Community and suffered heavy storm damage Tuesday. DOT officials say that a two mile detour is in place.
The bridge is over 65 years old and is expected to undergo repairs in the near future
