A student at an Upstate high school is in custody after bringing a gun to school. The incident happened at Greenville’s Wade Hampton High Tuesday morning. The Greenville County Sheriff’s Office says an investigation started around 9 AM, the 14 year old student was found with marijuana.
A subsequent search turned up a loaded handgun. The Sheriff’s Office says they are not aware of any direct threats. The student is charged with possession of a gun on school grounds and possession of a controlled substance.
