A Stephens County man on felony probation is back behind bars after deputies allegedly found a trafficking amount of meth. Officials say 41-year-old David Adam Wilhite, of Toccoa was under investigation for drug distribution.
Last Wednesday, deputies stopped Wilhite for several traffic violations and reportedly found nearly three grams of meth under the driver's seat. A search of a home linked to Wilhite uncovered nearly two more ounces of what is believed to be meth.
According to the Sheriff's Office, Wilhite was on felony probation for previous drug offenses and had waived his Fourth Amendment protection against warrantless searches, as a condition of that probation.
He was arrested on trafficking and possession charges and is being held without bond.
