A suspect is dead after an officer involved shooting in the Upstate. The Greenville County Sheriff's Office responded to a disturbance call around 5:15 Wednesday evening at a home on Pequot Drive in Greenville.
Upon arrival, deputies encountered an armed suspect and sometime later a shooting took place. The man was shot and killed, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Sheriff's Office says preliminary reports show that four deputies fired on the suspect. Those deputies have been placed on paid administrative leave while SLED investigates which is standard protocol in officer involved shootings, statewide. No deputies were injured in the incident.
