A suspect with a violent criminal history is dead and a victim is injured after a shooting in the public square of an Upstate town.
The Laurens County Coroner's Office responded Tuesday afternoon to the scene at East Public Square in downtown Laurens. Police say the shooting happened at a home healthcare office and the victim worked there.
The person who died in the shooting is also the suspect. Police say the suspect had been released from jail Tuesday morning after being charged with domestic violence.
The identity of the deceased has not yet been released. The victim was airlifted to the hospital but there's been no update on their condition.
