The identity of the suspect and the charges against him following a standoff in the Upstate Thursday have now been released. As we previously reported, the Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office responded to a home on Greenleaf Drive in Greer, on reports of a domestic dispute involving a gun.
The suspect let his girlfriend and a child out of the home and barricaded himself inside. After negotiations with the SWAT team stalled, a K-9 was sent in. The suspect was bitten and taken into custody.
He's now been identified as 32 year old, Jorge Uriel Lara Marquez of Greer. He's charged with 1st degree domestic violence, trafficking cocaine and meth, and multiple weapons violations.
The Sheriff's Office says the suspect was transported to the hospital to be treated for the dog bite, no deputies were injured in the incident.
