A suspect is now in custody after a deadly hit and run crash in the Western North Carolina Mountains, last weekend. The Sylva Police Department says, the crash happened there, this past Sunday.
Police say 21 year old, Mauricio Sarmiento has been arrested in connection to the fatal crash. He's charged with hit and run causing death, driving while his license was revoked and multiple other driving violations.
Investigators say he also had a prior outstanding warrant in Jackson County, so additional charges could be forthcoming.
