The suspect has now been identified after being arrested following a SWAT team standoff in the Upstate.
As we previously reported, the Oconee County Sheriff's Office responded to a domestic disturbance on Harry's Drive near Coffee Road in Westminster, around 3:30 PM, Tuesday.
The man had reportedly threatened to harm a woman and himself. The suspect now identified as 34 year old, Thaddeus Lane Carroll initially refused to come out of the house or to surrender to deputies.
After about 3 hours of failed negiotations, the SWAT team was called in. About an hour later, SWAT personnel made entry into the home and Carroll was taken into custody without further incident.
Arrest warrants say Carroll choked the woman and threatened to kill her while brandishing a pistol. He's charged with aggravated domestic violence, resisting arrest and a weapons violation.
