A standoff in Greer ends with the suspect the only one injured. Just before 2PM Thursday, Greenville County Sheriff's deputies responded to a home on Greenleaf Drive for a domestic violence incident, involving a weapon.
The victim and a child were allow to the leave the home and the victim told deputies her boyfriend had assaulted her and was still in the home and under the influence of methamphetamines, armed with a pistol.
Negotiators starting communicating with the suspect while SWAT members established a perimeter while negotiations continued. SWAT utilized less lethal weapons and tactics and deployed a K9.
The armed suspect was taken into custody and received medical care for a dog bit. There were no other injuries. The name of the suspect has not been released, as of the time of this report.
