A suspect is now in custody and the victim has been identified following a deadly weekend shooting in the Upstate. As we previously reported, The Greenville County Sheriff's Office responded to a shooting on Roper Mountain Road in Greenville, just after 11PM Saturday.
Upon arrival, the victim was found dead at the scene. He's been identified as 35 year old, Bennie Anderson. The suspect 33 year old, Jemiel Gowans had fled the scene. He was later located at the Intown Suites on Mauldin Road and was taken into custody. He's charged with murder and a weapons violation.
Investigators say, that an argument between the two men led to the shooting. Gowans has initially been denied bond and is being held at the Greenville County Jail.
