The suspect that allegedly created a scare regarding suspicious packages in Simpsonville, has been arrested in another state. As we previously reported, the municipal buildings in Simpsonville were shut down all day Wednesday after suspicious packages were found.
The Greenville County Sheriff's Office says 57 year old, Aaron Lee Wiles has been arrested on charges of aggravated breach of peace and a creating a bomb hoax. Wiles was located in Knoxville, Tennessee and was taken into custody.
Officials say a briefcase and a backpack were left in front of the magistrate's door. Investigators say emails were discovered from just days prior that Wiles sent to judges suggesting that demands be met as he already had a pending court case.
Officials believe Wiles carried out the hoax to disrupt business at the court house. Wiles is in custody in Knox County, Tennessee awaiting extradition back to the Upstate.
