An arrest has been made following a fatal shooting last week at an Upstate motel last week. The Greenville County Sheriff's Office responded to a reported shooting last Thursday at the Days Inn on Roper Mountain Road in Greenville. Deputies say that Katherine Calloway and her unborn child were killed in the shooting.
On Thursday, Michael Unique Washington Jr. was arrested in connection to the shooting. Washington was apprehended in Orangeburg County and has been transported back to Greenville County. SLED and The Orangeburg County Sheriff's Office assisted in his capture.
Washington faces charges of Murder, Death To An Unborn Child, and a Weapons Violation. The Sheriff's Office says the motive for the shooting is still being investigated. They do not believe that Washington and the victim knew each other.
