A suspect faces federal charges after the carjacking of a mail carrier led to a shooting in Western North Carolina. Authorities say, the incident happened September 5th when a rural mail carrier was carjacked in Madison County.
The U.S. Attorney's Office says 24 year old Isaiah Garay has been indicted by a federal grand jury in Asheville. The indictment claims that the suspect fired at least one shot from a handgun during the carjacking.
Garay faces charges of attempted murder, assaulting a mail carrier and a weapons violation.
